appLying for EMDR Therapy WITH ME while I’m in Training

STOP HERE: No Spots Currently Available

Hi there. Sadly, this means that the spot you heard about has now been claimed. In the case that it re-opens (i.e., if I stop working with the person who claimed it, or if another spot opens up), I’ll update this heading so that you know a spot is currently available and can proceed with the next section.

For when a spot is currently available

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m assuming it’s because someone has sent you my way to apply for doing EMDR therapy with me while I’m in training with this model.

I’m new to EMDR, but I’m an experienced psychotherapist. If you want to know more about me, personally and professionally, you’re welcome to peruse the rest of this website. Please keep in mind as you do that that a lot of the info won’t apply to you as someone seeking EMDR with me during my training (e.g., the parts about DBT, BPD and addictions) but they might tell you some things about my style, life, experience and personality. Please also note that the “Cost” page of my website does not apply to you: I offer a different rate for the service described on this page (i.e., a sliding scale of $50-$100, HST included, per session for weekly sessions). As for my EMDR therapy learning process, FYI I’m training in this with the International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation (ISSTD), with whom I’ve completed 38 hours of EMDR training so far.

Next steps

Before you contact me, please carefully read this whole page and follow the steps to book a free 30-min initial phone consultation with me to see if we’d both like to proceed with working together. This is required in order for us to potentially work together.

Making Sure You’re Available at the Weekly Session Time Offered

Please make sure you’re available at the following time that would be your weekly 80-min EMDR therapy session:

  • ____________.

Note that this session time and length is not flexible, so please do not proceed with this application if you can’t attend sessions weekly on ______.

Making Sure You’re Someone I’m Qualified and Available to Offer EMDR Therapy To

EMDR therapy can be helpful for people in all kinds of situations, but many of these are not suitable for a therapist currently training in EMDR. That means that there are a LOT of details that I need you to read through below, before you contact me. I know! Please bear with me. It’s really important for me to make sure that you meet all these criteria in order for me to work with you safely, so please read the following really carefully. Our initial free 30-min phone consultation and our actual first 4-8 sessions will be dedicated to getting to know you better and assessing whether I can safely provide EMDR therapy to you, based on my qualifications. If we find at any point along the way that this is not the case, I’ll provide you with some names of colleagues who might be more qualified or suited to work with you.

    2. That you’re available for the posted weekly 80-minute session time;

  5. If during our call I find I’m up for proceeding with a first session, I’ll give you a day to ponder whether you’re up for it, too. By 24 hours after our call, if you’d like to proceed, I’ll require your non-refundable deposit of your first session fee to hold your spot.

Looking forward to hearing from you if I’m able to help!
